Description

Center Stage^™ Red is an earlier blooming, vigorously growing crepe myrtle.  With its deep black foliage and glowing red flowers, it truly will command center stage in your landscape. Chosen from thousands of plants for its reliable heat tolerance, great powdery mildew resistance and vigorous habit so you’ll enjoy clean, glossy foliage all season long.  It naturally grows with a narrow, space-saving habit that eliminates the need to prune and opens up a range of landscaping possibilities.

Uses

Center Stage^™ Red creates a striking show in the landscape as a specimen, hedging plant, or foundation plant.  Plant in full sun landscapes and gardens for colour from Spring through to Autumn. 

Care

Center Stage^™ crepe myrtles have been evaluated and shown to have excellent powdery mildew disease resistance, they should still be planted in full sun, well drained soil.  Over watering should be avoided, to ensure the best performance.  If you wish to prune, do so in early Spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge on the stems.

Dig the hole wider than pot and as deep, up to 1m in spacing.  Carefully remove plant from pot, place in hole and backfill.  Water well and apply mulch, keeping away from the centre of the plant.
